Winter Activities and Keeping Your Girl Warm

Winter Activities and Keeping Your Girl Warm

Kids like to stay active. With winter already here, dressing your kids appropriately for the season can be fun and exciting. For many kids, playing in the snow is a must on a cold winter day. Whether its making snowmen or snow angels, kids like to make the most of their day and may not like being kept inside.

Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean your kid can’t get the exercise they need.. So, whether or not your girl wants to make a snow castle, sled ride, or dress like Elsa from Frozen while pretending to make it snow, you need to know how to dress them appropriately so they can have fun and stay warm.

Dressing for Winter Activities

• Layers are the best way to dress: Kids should be covered in at least three layers for the weather before they go out. This is a good way to go about layering: A girl’s thermal underwear set for a base layer to wick away moisture, a mid-layer to insulate the warmth and an outer layer to protect against wind and moisture. Thermals for girls are the first line of defense against the cold. Base your layering on the current weather conditions. Let them know if they’re cold they can come inside for an extra layer or take one off if it’s hot.

• Synthetics and wool make the best thermals: All base layers and socks should be wool, or for a more cost-effective approach, synthetic fabrics. Avoid cotton as it will absorb and retain moisture, which can trap cold moisture against the body and cause some severe health risks.

• Shop for outerwear that’s waterproof and windproof: Quality is best when choosing a good coat and snow pants. Check their rating for precise temperatures and their ability to ward off wind and moisture. You can also treat your outerwear with a spray-on water repellant to help with the effectiveness of the garment.

• Choose a top, bottom, or set for a base layer: Choosing the right thermals for girls is dependent on the weather. There are times when a thermal top is best, but on colder days, a girl’s thermal underwear set is usually the only way to go as it protects the whole body.

Spending time outdoors is a fun and exciting time for your kids. The magic of the snowy season expands their imagination and sense of wonder, and the amount of things to do outside is quite numerous, and spending this time with your kids is an excellent way to bond. The outdoors is more enjoyable when your child is warm and comfortable as it allows them the freedom to play and explore in safety. Having a few sets of thermals for girls will make for a pleasant experience for your kid in the colder seasons and give you some peace of mind when it comes to their safety.
